Today’s small thing: april showers

There is nothing like the sound and smell of rain. Fresh, clean, rhythmic, and unpredictable.

I’m reminded of a time in undergrad when a bunch of my friends decided to play frisbee in the rain at the old stadium. Probably not the best idea since it wasn’t just raining, it was storming. But being the invincible college students we were we decided the rain wasn’t going to ruin our parade. Instead of playing frisbee though, a friend and I found some puddles and made ‘rain angels’. We were soaked, but our laughter was worth it.

We thought we could outsmart the rain, letting it know that it can’t control us. But in reality, it does have a crazy way of reminding us that we really aren’t in control. There is a power well beyond our imagination calling the shots.

So today I sit inside, watching the droplets of H2O fall, hoping for the sun to show it’s face tomorrow.

What do you like to do when it’s raining?

It recently rained here and I decided I like to crack the windows a little to hear it rain. I usually find the best windows in the place and just watch.
